Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
This is Jesus' invitation to discipleship in Matthew 11:28-30.
Father Patrick M. Crino, Pastor
To honor all our veterans and celebrate Veterans Day, St. Thomas the Apostle extends aspecial invitation to all veterans, their friends and families to gather at 8:00 AM Mass in the Church. Veterans are invited to wear their uniform, shirt, hat or other symbols of their service.
As we come together to remember all who have served and those who sacrificed their lives to ensure our freedom and liberties, let us do so mindful of the redeeming sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
Our Knights of Columbus will provide a color/honor guard and assist any disabled veterans who attend.
Music for the Veterans’ Day Mass will be provided by our dedicated organist, Gregg Reynolds and special guest musicians, The 4GENTS. Led by parishioner, Matthew Holter, The 4GENTS is a professional Tucson-based vocal quartet who specialize in popular vocal music from the mid-20th century. The GENTS are happy to return to St. Thomas the Apostle and lend their voices to honor and show gratitude for our veterans, both past and present.
Lord God, Almighty Father,
creator of mankind and author of peace,
as we are ever mindful of the cost paid for the liberty we possess,
we ask you to bless the members of our armed forces.
Give them courage, hope and strength. To you be all glory, honor and praise, now and forever. Amen.
