Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded of you. And behold I am with you always, until the end of the age.
This is our Catholic mandate as found in Matthew 28:19-20/New American Bible.
Rev. Msgr. John P. Lyons, Pastor
Beginning Thursday, September 17 at 7 PM, Fr. Ken Wolfe will facilitate a weekly Zoom Study Group - SALT & LIGHT - open to all parishioners, but especially for parents (with or without children in the home).
Offered as an opportunity for members of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish to engage visibly and interact with each other, this ten-week Study Group supports our mission to be a pastoral, teaching, discipleship-based, connected Catholic community.
It is our hope that, with many parish families video or home schooling and spending more together, offering a basic primer on our Catholic Faith might be particularly helpful at this time.
The course is FREE and will be based on Bishop Robert Barron's 2020 book, CENTERED: The Spirituality of Word on Fire (150 pages; available on Amazon - roughly $23 hardback; $9 Kindle). You’ll want to purchase it soon and read the Introduction and First Chapter (‘God’) for the first Zoom session.
The 45-minute weekly sessions will explore core theology of the Catholic Church:
God
Jesus Christ
Life in Christ
Revelation
The Church
The Human Person
Holiness
Evangelization
Challenges to the Faith
