Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
This is Jesus' invitation to discipleship in Matthew 11:28-30.
Father Patrick M. Crino, Pastor

The duties of the Altar Guild involve the care and maintenance of everything pertaining to the celebration of Mass and the Sacraments
This ministry includes taking care of the vessels, candles, holy water fonts, missals, altar linens, altar server cassocks and surplices, the priests' albs. It also cares for 'live' flowers used on special occasions.
Some tasks are weekly; some monthly. Some tasks rotate so that a volunteer need only perform the task 2 - 4 times a year.
To assist in this ministry, contact Coleen Davis at 520-310-4648.
It is a privilege to serve at the Altar of our God. Servers have a responsibility to serve with dignity and reverence. The primary role of the altar server is to assist and support priests and deacons in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. This is done through the servers' prayerful presence, specific actions and active participation in the liturgy (hymns, responses, etc.) setting an example for the congregation.
Youth are invited to be formed in the Ministry of Altar Serving during the fourth grade and have received the Sacrament of First Communion.
St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is committed to help its youth altar servers realize they are needed, most welcome and respected. It is committed to help them to grow in their love for Jesus and His Church, making them faithful witnesses of our Church.
To that end, enthusiastic students and parents committed to this ministry are welcome… families who will regularly have servers at Mass so as to become confident witnesses to the Church and the sacredness of the Mass.
Boys and girls who are in the 4th grade or older are encouraged to become altar servers at our weekend Masses.

Ever considered becoming a youth ministry volunteer? Living our Catholic faith is very much about seeking to be in a deeper relationship with Jesus and then evangelizing what we encounter about Jesus to others. Our STAP Youth Team plans and provides experiences to high school teens, helping lead them closer to Jesus, so they might fall in love with Him and His message.
Moments that have the greatest impact on lives come when we are in the presence of someone, being authentic and there for him/her. In our youth ministry offerings, we seek to help young people locate their experience of God within the language and experience of the Catholic Church. We then nurture their relationship with Him through practices of living that keep them available to God and others.
Jesus said I came that you may have life, and have it abundantly - John 10:10.The deeper purpose to our youth ministry is mentoring and modeling what it means to become fully alive. Our Core Team members are essential to our faith sharing mission.

There are jobs - and then there is a calling. At the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson, we understand the desire for something more. We believe that calling comes from God and manifests as our desire to do His will on earth and in our community. If you have been looking for something more, a mission or purpose, perhaps God is calling you to work or volunteer for the Catholic Church.
Our mission is simple: get to Heaven and bring as many people along as possible.
We each have different God-given talents and strengths. What better way to glorify God than to use those gifts in supporting His Church? We are ministers, educators, creators, and servant leaders. It takes many types of people to accomplish the work of the Diocese of Tucson.
The Diocese of Tucson employs over 1,500 individuals in the nine counties of Southern Arizona, in service of 400,000 Catholics and counting.
Join us in serving the diverse and dynamic people of the Diocese of Tucson on their own journeys towards Heaven.
