Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.
This is Jesus' invitation to discipleship in Matthew 11:28-30.
Father Patrick M. Crino, Pastor
It is a privilege to serve at the altar of our God. Servers have a responsibility to serve with dignity and reverence. The primary role of the altar server is to assist and support priests and deacons in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass. This is done through the servers' prayerful presence, specific actions and active participation in the liturgy (hymns, responses, etc.) setting an example for the congregation.
Youth are invited to be formed in the Ministry of Altar Serving during the fourth grade and have received the Sacrament of First Communion.
St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is committed to help its youth altar servers realize they are needed, most welcome and respected. It is also committed to help them to grow in their love for Jesus and His Church, making them faithful witnesses of our Church.
To that end, we seek enthusiastic students and parents committed to this ministry… families who will regularly have servers at Mass so as to become confident witnesses to the Church and the sacredness of the Mass.
Boys and girls who are in the 4th grade or older are encouraged to become altar servers at our weekend Masses.
If you are interested in applying to become a youth altar server, ask your parent(s) to contact Deacon Ed at [email protected] or call 520-577-8780, extension 111 OR complete and submit the form below.
